TORRES: WE CAN STILL IMPROVE

Fernando Torres insists Spain can get even better as La Furia Roja close in on a place at next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.
The Spaniards have won all seven of their qualifiers so far and can assure their position at the 2010 tournament with victory over Estonia on Wednesday should Group 5 rivals Bosnia-Herzegovina fail to defeat Turkey.

"This team is at a stage where we can still improve," said El Nino. "We are a young side and we can still learn and I am sure we will get better.
"I hope this team will deliver even more and that our best moment is still to come."

Spain recorded a resounding 5-0 win against Belgium on Saturday to maintain their 100 per cent record in qualifying.

Having only lost one match in almost three years, many believe the reigning European champions to be the strongest team at international level.

"Time will tell," said Torres. "We have won the European Championships, we are achieving good results and we are also breaking records, but we will have to see in time.

"No one has yet to see all the teams play together, so we should leave the comparisons for another time."

Meanwhile, the striker revealed his desire to see the likes of Argentina, France and Portugal book their places at the finals.

The trio's participation is far from certain after they suffered a weekend of disappointing results.

Torres added: "It wouldn't be the same without them. No doubt if those teams qualify for next summer's event, they will be up there with the favourites.

"We found qualification for the European Championships tough going, but we ended up lifting the trophy.

"Fortunes change overnight, and sides who are struggling now could well be amongst the favourites for next summer's finals.

"The better the teams taking part are, the better it will be for us as we will be even more motivated."
